Topic is self explanatory.

I need mediums to complete the medium missions.

Are the new polish mediums good for hulldown?

FWIW the Matilda is classified as a Medium.   Tier IV British tech tree and Tier V Russian premium.

OP if you are looking for an armoured medium line that is considered decently armoured all the way from tier 4, there isn't one.

Closest would probably be Russian 430U line, but even there, not all tanks in the line can rely on their armour, at best some are troll bounce worthy up to tier 8. Tier 9 and 10 are great though.

This.

Tier 4:

tech tree UK Matilda

Tier 5:

tech tree USA M4A1 (hulldown),

tech tree Italian P.43 (80mm sloped front armor and turret, 50mm sides; it's no Matilda in terms of armor but is at least fast enough to go to MT places)

collector German Pz.III/IV (80mm sloped front armor but paper 50mm turret and 30mm sides; try poking the sloped hull only without the trackwheels)

collector French Renault G1R (60mm spaced side armor sidescraping)

premium USSR Matilda IV (70mm spaced side armor sidescraping)

premium UK Matilda BP (70mm spaced side armor sidescraping)

Tier 6:

collector USA Jumbo Sherman (hulldown with 152mm-thick stock turret)

premium USA Thunderbolt (front hull armor can somewhat bounce typical D25T and D10T guns)

Tier 7:

tech tree China T-34-1 (170mm frontal turret armor lets you hulldown against an entire flank of low-tiers)

collector USSR KV-13 (IS-level armor so can sidescrape with 85mm armor)

Matilda also has a rediculous fire-rate ....

The tier 5 Italian tank also has 80mm hull and turret and is quite bouncy against equal tiered tanks IIRC.

By m4a1 you mean the M4 Sherman right?

And the new polish mediums seem to have good turret armour at least against same tired enemies.

Aye, forgot about that. P.43 has sloped 80mm front armor with a still-decent 50mm sides; it's better-armored than the Pz.III/IV.

Yep the good old M4 Sherman. WG renamed it to distinguish its egg-shaped front from its flat-fronted contemporaries.

Haven't yet tried the Pole Meds myself, but the tier 7 CS-44's 150mm-thick turret might work. Tier 5 DS PZ is only 50mm at most, tier 6 BUGI's 100mm-thick turret isn't really amazing for its tier. You start getting good turrets from tier 8 and up, but if you're going for an 8 MT with turret armor, there's a lot of options at tier 8: T-44, 4202, Cent, Pershing, T26E4, WZ, Chimera...

I had no problem penning turret front of the tier 8 Polish medium trying to dig one out from behind the slot in a bunker on the field of Siegfried line using premium ammo on a Progetto tier 8. For sure premium ammo, but shows that the front is not reliable and should not be exposed more than momentarily if at all possible.
