the swedish autoloading premium tier 6 medium tank, the strv m/42-57

i recently purchased this with a 30% discount coupon, and i've had about 15 games already. its a good tank, base 350m view range, 13 power/weight ratio, with a 39 degree/sec. hull traverse. it's not the worlds fastest, but it can get you out of a bad situation as quickly as you can get into one. the hull itself, is paper mache. a maximum of 53mm frontal hull armour with 40mm of frontal turret armour, this thing, is a glass cannon, a kv-2 can overmatch your entire hull (however you can bounce a few lucky shells every now and then (from other tanks))

this thing shines because of its 75mm autoloader. its a fantastic gun, with 600hp clip potential (good for this tier), only taking 6 seconds to unload the 4 shells, and a respectable 15 second magazine reload. its got 150mm standard shell penetration, good enough to deal with those [edited]japanese heavies. of course, dabbing the 2 key will leave all your worries behind, with 190mm gold penetration.

that's all i have to say for it, i know this is out of the blue, but if you want me to give a tank summary, feel free to message me , i enjoy it :D

if you have any tips that would be awesome as well

Tip: it comes for free with tankrewards.asia for this month.

And it has a unique surströmming camo from the Anniversary Coins.

I liked mine when I rented it. Decent sniper, decent opportunist, it lives and dies on its gun.

Just wish it had a smidge more gun depression.

Excellent tank, the gun is awesome. Could do with better gun depression but if it did it would probably be flat out OP and they might touch the gun, which would be a tragedy.

I think it's really strong, and with the new equipment I found mounting a turbo makes a huge difference for this tank given you can't mount a rammer by default. Having a top speed of 50 rather than 45 feels much faster.

This. But also it is the reverse speed improvement that is the real benefit.

I mounted the focus thingy that reduces reticle bloom . I dont see the point of putting a turbo on this as it doesnt have great armor and getting their first means you die first .

Just my opinion .

Mobility makes paper tanks far more forgivable. Bring able to pick and choose your engagements helps a fair amount.

I haven't played it since equips 2.0 because I BP'd it out, but I'm going to try it with a IRM to improve the gun as well as a bit of the mobility. I think that might be the better compromise between turbos and a direct aim helper like the reticle-shrinker.

oh well. i'm only up to level 1 or something so yeah :teethhappy:

and yes, it's played like a TD. great accuracy, unload 600hp in 6 seconds, it's the gun that makes it special.

i just have one problem with the surströmming (nice spelling, how do you remember haha) camo... i dont want phish on top of my turret xD

that is oh so true. understandable however, as it has the AMX 13 75's turret (so very restricted)

haven't tried turbo, as i play to its strength of being played like a TD. off-topic, but i have turbo on 34-85M which makes it so much better, as it's the slowest of its 34-85 brethren

i have camo net, bino and gun laying drive. i believe this thing is played like a 2nd-last line tank, because as you said (very true) it's armour is horrible

i only got it after equip. 2.0 xD. i much rather quicker intra-clip aim time, as it's accuracy is already pretty good. maybe i can swap out bino/camo for the IRM-reticle-shrink-thing

I play mine as a close support frontline tank. That clip is devastating, both in damage and tracking potential.

I agree with Puggs, this is where the extra mobility the turbo can help with also. Being able to accelerate hard out from behind hard cover/meat-shield team mate put a couple of shots in then reverse more quickly also to get back behind hard cover/meat-shield team mate is really handy.

Also helps with those micro flanks where you force a lone enemy heavy to choose between turning turret to target you but then be exposed to the heavy on your team with the big alpha in front.
