I reserve judgement on the Somua as I have hardly started playing it yet whereas the other two tanks in the comparison I have played a lot more. I find it hard to understand that someone can make such declarative statements when only having played one of them to any degree..as I said my sense is that they each play quite differently and have different strengths.

 

Still if I came on too strong 3Hitko, I apologise, clearly we don't agree on several things about this game. Perhaps with a certain amount of tiredness (which is no excuse) I was intolerant and could have framed responses better.

 

Noted with thanks, yes I do admit that our playstyle is very different and I cant deny that I need to improve in many aspect, as I was impressed by the amount of battles & performance you did in Lorr40t, and I do understand your points on Somua S & Lorr40t.
My statements on Somua SM despite I played very little, you can ignore them.

Maybe I kinda overexaggerated the Somua SM's "no armor" aspect by my past experience of FV4005 as support heavy (no armor and no camo with a big gun). Maybe Somua SM's very good gun + good pen + good clip damage can offset its shortcomings effectively under your hands. (cant deny that Somua is very deadly starting mid-game onwards when map control start to shift)

However nowadays, for most of tier 8 prem heavy tanks, its turret need somehow to be able to tank some hits from tier 9 and 10 prammo (due to being btm tier), while worrying HE shells from SkyCancer. Somua is especially vulnerable on this.

Actually I specifically pointed out I was not directing my comments about obj 274a, in fact I was talking as I stated about the Bison.

 

Regardless that is in no way inconsistent with my views in this thread, I never stated you or anyone else could not talk about a tank you don't own. My issue was with definitive declarations of overall worth as if speaking with extensive experience with the tank in question as compared with some other tank.

 

I was pointing out in that thread that our perception of balance is possibly so warped these days that we call trash anything that isn't brokenly OP or even has some significant weakness. How can we call for balance but then throw hissy fits if WG release a decently balanced tank?

Ok, I have 50 battles in the Somua, an Ace Tanker, 1.6k DPG, 359 damage blocked which is around 1.5x the amount your have in a tank that you say has good armor

 

And I agree with what 3hko says about the Somua

There is a saying in science: "A kid saying the Earth is round does not make it any less round." We judge statements and arguments by their content, not by who said it. You can't sing, but you too can say that Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj is bad, and as long as you can form a convincing argument, who cares if your own singing skill is 45%. However, jumping to belittling people using their stats the moment they disagree with you and they have less stats than you, yet hiding behind the "I am an average player" argument when things go the other way, is why nobody likes you, Cardinal.

Um, it's Christmas. Looks like some people are carrying some latent grudges around - no idea why - but making false accusations, and then doubling down with sweeping generalisation insults that are necessarily incorrect doesn't win them any arguments.

 

And it's Christmas. Can we keep things friendly?

1. Please point to where I stated the Somua has good armour. I disagreed with the statement that it "literally has no armour."

 

2. Fine you agree with 3Hitkos assessment of the Somua, good for you. 

 

3. I agree I erred bringing stats into the argument, it actually isn't something I am normally inclined to do, it weakens the argument not strengthens it and demonstrates it isn't wise to debate when tired.

 

If no one likes me, then so be it. Not sure your opinion is entirely objective in that but sure ok, if you say so. I will somehow manage regardless of your or anyone else's approval.

Looks like most of the elitists got some very wrong idea about being a good player. 

 

Like some fella said, opinions of a good player tend to be more reliable than a bad player's, by its definition its true.

But what defines a good player or bad? Account stats alone? Player's attitude conveniently ignored?

Are those stats even accurate to measure a player's capability 100% from the beginning? In random game mode?

Example: If I want higher DPM & higher base XP per battle, I can fire more prammo, yea being P2W as a skill, in random game mode?

 

For other "stat-shaming" elitists in this forum:

A good account stats player with a poor attitude when communicating other player (no matter in game or in forum), is a BAD player.

Account stats can be "improved" by certain means;

But being kind to others or being toxic/sarcastic, is a choice.

And that choice defines you.

 

 

 

 

I have seen players pushing their team mates back into cover after their tanks got tracked in the open. I have also seen players with enough armour and health deliberately moving in front of one shot team mates to shield them from being sent back to the garage. I have been rescued many times when I got flipped or stuck. Those players are good players in my books and I will most certainly not judge them on their stats. I immediately send a friend request to them after the battle. That's why 90% of the players on my friends list are "good" players even though they have so called "bad" stats.

Being a good person doesn't present as clearly in ones stats as being a good player.
