It's been a while community. No need for a life story, but, it's been a while.

There are things that, weigh, heavily in my mind. Keep me up at night. Regret. Life choices. The spectre of entropy, ravaging what life is left in my body. Torturing the soul. Like last night:

I'm definitely a Bicorne man. Nothing says "total excess" better, than pretending to be Napoleon.

 

@Conan; I found some random store in Australia Bicorn hat | Etsy but eh, I'm not sure how this kind of thing would post. And none of the products really pop. Just skimming the interwebs I can see some militaries still use a Bicorne in their parade uniforms. So maybe something authentic (i.e. actually well made) can be found 2nd hand. This looks like a long term project.

Yeah I'm not getting any hits on this for an hour, and I'm pretty good at the history research thingo. Social media has a blind spot on this one. Interesting read though.

 

It seems unlikely Filipino units would make it all the way to Iberia, but I can see military history records before and after......I'd actually like a reference if you got one (I'm not going to the effing library). It seems more likely units from the Philippines would have been deployed to revolts in Spain's other colonies

Actually the relevant history is interesting. What happened in most of Spain's colonies was a revolt that either was suppressed later or resulted in independence for the colony (i.e. Mexico). The Philippines experienced the former, but even by those standards the revolt was especially small and based only in a few of the northern provinces. The main causes for the very limited nature of the Filipino revolt (compared to any other Spanish colony) were that a broad, pan-Filipino attitude hadn't really formed yet, and apparently the hold of the Church on the islands was particularly strong, even by the heavily-Catholicised standards of Spanish colonies.

Dang. Because, I am bored atm . Yeah, interesting about Catholicism. Apparently the locals preferred the Church over traditional polytheism, as subscribing to the former reduced factional disputes between islands (and opened trade). They took all the good ideas from Spain (language, identity, trade) then eventually kicked em out. Lols.

There were some honourable mentions. I didn't include horns on the viking helmet, because vikings didn't do that. (it says so on the tv show)

 

I thought maybe also a Roman centurion helmet (crested galea).

 

Maybe I should make a giant tank hat to play TheWerldofTenks..........with the gun projecting from my forehead. This would be boss!
