It looks like mechanics will change somehow (like with auction last year) given they mention special rules for Asia server like with Holiday boxes, which they didn't before.

I just wish it would operate realistically whereby price starts at original reserve and decreases slowly until all sold. Then some of the silly offers might become viable.

Where have they mentioned this?

A few problems with that:

1) if they set at regular price, it could sell out in seconds e.g. type 59g, ebr, which go way above standard price. So many miss out even though willing to pay more.

2) so they could set it way higher than realistic, to ensure everyone had a chance. Then this would cause the same problem as point 3.

3) Whatever level it's set, it could take ages to reach a desired level, so you have to stay at your computer for 12 hours hoping for a bargain but ensuring there's still stock on hand

4) and obviously it's going to result in the lowest returns to WG, so doesn't make sense to do as a seller.

For rare items, the upward auction is appropriate. But with common items better to go fixed price then everyone can decide whether it's value for them and buy it or not as convenient.

Interesting. It was on their official announcement page soon after posted. But I checked now and it's pulled down. I guess it was a mistake...?

For rare items, the upward auction is appropriate. But with common items better to go fixed price then everyone can decide whether it's value for them and buy it or not as convenient.

1. Regular price? It's wg. They can set the original price wherever they want. The suctions obviously work differently.

3. That's the idea. You buy if you think it's worth it. Go in early if you want to pay more and have a better chance they have stock or wait and risk them running out of stock but potentially get a better deal.

The point is to address situations where on a few items wg clearly set the price too high and wound up with thousands of unsold tanks. If I'm trying to fence something on a bm I don't want to be left with thousands of stock. Ie reduce price if things weren't selling. Iirc the t34b started at a silly price and hardly any sold. A reducing price would both make the players happy and allow wg to move more stock and hence make more money as a seller. Eg 100 sold full price regardless. Then any more they sell as the price reduces is simply more for the seller.

Have never participated in Blackmarket before. Is it only available through game client or via website as well? If only game client, RIP anyone who works for a living.

Btw - pretty sure the Pz V/IV will be on the list given the hint in the clip when they're trying to open the garage door, ie "is it the 4 or the 5?" with the Pz plates on the wall.

Client I think. And yeah, it is difficult if you don't have someone playing from home.

IMPORTANT:
Due to regulatory differences in the APAC region, we have modified certain mechanics for the Black Market to ensure that you'll be able to make the most of the event.

States at very top of portal announcement.

I also work like a slave for a living, so won't make most of the BMs. Last year I hit the jackpot and was on holidays when BM ran. But saying that, only 2-3 of the 14 offers were relevant to a veteran patron like me.

Looks like there's some element of chance in at least one of the purchases. Though ours will be modified to remove that, or give some form of base value/more certainty.

So, the below means the auctions are on at 3:05am and 3:05pm Sydney time each day?

Rule Number 3: You snooze, you lose!

The offered lots are changed twice a day at 00:00 UTC+8 and 12:00 UTC+8. With each lot, there will be an indication of how many pieces of a particular offer are available. Just keep your head in the game. If you get in too late, there'll be nothing left.

Rule Number 4: Be on your toes and have your savings at the ready!

The goods will be ready at 00:00 UTC+8 and 12:00 UTC+8, but you can only buy them five minutes later, at 00:05 UTC+8 and 12:05 UTC+8. Use this time wisely ‘cause it’s your own little preview. Don’t fumble around with your wallet when sales begin, or else you’ll miss out on the goods you want.

No, it's saying auctions or fixed price sales can be at either time.

But if it's an auction it goes the full 12 hours. If it's a sale, actual sales start at 5 min past the time, with a 5 min preview until then from the top of the hour.
