Two years ago there was bounty equipment for players without spending gold - and fair enough they put a LOT of time into playing to get those rewards.

The year after there was some bounty equipment but the best piece, the bounty rammer was only for gold spenders.

THIS YEAR the only way to get the bounty equipment is to spend 750 gold!

I have premium account, I support the game, but i do not like that with every passing month game becomes more and more pay2win.

I think it's disgusting. They need to stop calling WoT free2play. Free2play implies you have equal chances in the game as paying customers.

Also it shames the whales by degrading their achievements as being (partially) purchased not earnt.

absolutely agree, this year battle pass kinda copycat the pay to win elements with the first round of the battle pass last year, so maybe the second and third set of battle pass this year will be more "free to play", but for now, yeah this monetization scheme is kinda scammy IMO

That said, I don't think anyone (aside from WG) is a fan of the equipment including bounty behind a pay wall.

Yeah couple of ways of looking at it. On the one hand objectively the non pay rewards are decent, I mean they are freely got for just playing. They include things that a few years ago you simply would not get for free.

 

On the other hand bounty equipment only behind behind a pay wall is increasing the perception of p2w.  

 

To be honest I am not a fan of bond or bounty equipment, both are inherently p2w at least to some degree and more importantly they make balancing the game harder.

 

However since WG aren't going to take them away, they should at least not pay wall them any more than they have to.

I used to be obsessed with getting Epic medals because that was once the only reliable source of bonds for free players but now even that has been taken away from me. I learned to let go of my stats once I became a permanent free player and I made the first move by allowing my nephew to pilot my account.

At least you can pay with gold, which can be earned by clan wars, tournaments, etc.

 

Blitz forces you to use real cash.

now i will post in this thread again in 2-3 years once all the whales who "pay2win" in this game start finally being effective in game using their bounty equipment. Right now its a hit or miss. Cant tell if the whales are getting any better.

i have one tank with 3 pieces of bounty gear and its transformed it from average to above average. and i dont run food , directives or gold ammo, wish i could afford them

of course you have, but since you wont name said tank its hard to say the equipment made you better. Maybe you just playin it better now? the equipment might be causing you to play it differently, or maybe its just luck/not enough games in said tank to create a plausible sample. OR maybe yes, the equip does provided you with an advantage, but still, as i said previously, there are other whales in the sea. I see lots of whales out there who are reloading faster than usual, and still arent doing any better than they used to.

totally agree, you do get the tier 9 tank towards the end, so its designed to make you play a butt load of games. and many people refuse to pay money into this game until they remove arty
