Am I buying a true tier tank ?

Am buying a tier 8 tank, and what the stock gave is tier 5 tier 7 module ...
Is this normal ??   In the real world do you agree this kind of purchase ??
Buying a full price mercedez and the interior is toyota yaris , do you accept this kind of exchange ??

I mean, in real life the T95 super heavy was powered by the same engine that they used on certain Sherman Variants. It's also why the former is so horrifically slow(still not sure why the designers gave it such a weak engine).

 

It's a thing in the game, and it has genuine historical elements inside of it. Certain tanks were legitimately built with the same parts and components. Besides, the "tier" of the moduel tends to matter little overall. It's just some arbitrary manner of ranking. The tier 5 T1 Heavy stock engine is rated at tier 5, but that doesn't stop it from being stronger than a large number of engines at tier 9 and 10.

 

Focus on the performance of the modules.

Check the stats of the modules before you worry about the tier it is rated at. Some premium tanks have underpowered guns, others have overpowered guns. 

Just don't buy the premium tanks because they are premium unless they suit your training needs or style of play.

Well said. Prime examples of premiums that suit a particular playstyle and yet have decent gun performance would be the SU122-44 & E25.

Only thing is the OP is talking about tech tree tanks, not premiums.

True,

But people should also check the health pool of such lower tier modules, as they could be substantially lower; in this case of it being an engine, it could be prone to being knocked out by even the smallest enemy caliber the tank faces.

I honestly haven't looked at the tier of modules for years. It's basically irrelevant in whether you want a tank or not.

The simple solution is to free xp the stock modules if they are useless. You will also grind the tank that much faster if you do

there are tanks in the tech tree that have very good stock modules, some tanks have stock modules that can be better than top modules... Historical tanks are a different story it seems tho. I am not really into tank history stuff so i dont know which tanks i played are historical, but maybe some historical tanks have bellow average modules to keep them from being massively played at randoms for being historical + good? Or maybe the gamemakers are just bad at attracting new players.

Jagdpanzer IV's engine has a health pool of 86 hitpoints; and this includes/affects the front mounted transmission. Although the engine performance is very good, for its tier, that's a severe durability weakpoint and something to keep in mind for any JP IV fan.

Yeah, if you want something with an underpowered gun the premium shop just happens to be selling a premium tank with a tier 1 gun....for the very special, heavily discounted price of 71.82 AUD (or 109.02 AUD for the Best Buy package...valued at 136.37).

 

The only time I've really noticed the tier of a module for tech tree tank was the tier 5 Pz. Sfl IVc TD having a tier 8 gun. Yeah, that sounds good until you have to work with 5/5 degree gun arc that results in constant deactivation of cammo net and binocs (the cammo net is the only thing that gives you a better concealment rating than most heavy tanks).
