So this happened:

http://wotreplays.eu/site/6029710#minsk-framframson-conqueror_gun_carriage

Points against there being any funny business:

- I wasn't in particularly unusual locations, so fair go for blind shots

- Once I was tracked, he presumably would be able to see that his shots weren't hitting dirt, so it's reasonable to continue.

Points which make me suspicious about funny business:

- Other than my starting position (which was NOT blind fired) wasn't necessarily in any exactly typical spots either, and I moved 3 times

- He nearly immediately guessed where I relocated to once I moved off hill? Well enough to blind shot what was kind of a random spot? That's some kinda lucky guess!

- He was *REALLY* persistent with the tracking shots. I know no dirt was going up. But seriously? That many blind shots in a row without a kill on a 1-hit tank?

- He was able to predict which direction I went after I was finally able to repair my track? Or that I had repaired my track and moved at all?! I mean, I hadn't gone far, but still, the number of lucky guesses this guy made is pretty impressive!

I wouldn't think so, you are in arty and there are strong visual indicators of where you are firing from, the 121B player would have been looking at the origin of the trace and once he got lucky he kept pumping shots in.

As you said he would have noticed no splash so being on target and the last shot that killed would have been close to where he was aiming previously and caught you.

Is paintball mod grey area or outright illegal

Fun fact: If your shot lands outside the draw distance, you won't be able to see if it hits the dirt or not.

The false trajectory dispersion is pretty wide though, and I didn't fire near enough shots for him to triangulate.

He could still get "regular lucky" with those, but that doesn't explain how he knew I'd MOVED for the kill shot.

He only fired after you did, not from you knocking down the fence or anything, so I say nope - tracers were his target, at the end he got lucky.
I am wrong alot though ......

Did you even watch your own replay?

You move to the left while backing off, then to the right when driving forward.

From the 121B's point of view, you hadn't moved at all horizontally at the time of shot. You basically gave him a flush shot of your side where your tracks used to be. Well played.

For a more graphical image of the above:

The red line shows the general direction the 121B was shooting from, the small circle is where he hit when tracking you. The big circle is where you were when you died.

True, but 47%ers like the guy in question(EDIT: = the guy playing the 121B) might not know that.

Fram's a damned decent player. He lives in Canada and deals with 300+ ping, that's why his stats look bad.

edit : oops

I was talking about the 121B that kept on shooting him.

He might have not known that the shells do not hit dirt above the draw distance.

For all we know, he could have kept on pumping shots in thinking the shells were disappearing because he was hitting the arty, and not because it was outside the draw distance.

If you watch the replay, you can see his IGN.

I think he meant the 121B.
