Hola Fellow Members,

Greeting of the day!

I was recently watching some videos of a WW2 Japanese tank and noticed that the Japanese had also planned/ had some blueprint of Tank Destroyers. I also think WG should induct a new TD line for Japane in-game too. What do you guys think of it?

Both the Japanese TDs and Italian TDs are real-life WWII lines missing from the game.

Technically both were actually a blend of TD and SPG, but I'm not sure I'd bet on WG introducing a new SPG line, lol.

I wish WG introduces a premium tier-8 SPG.

Premium Arty is such a burning issue, I wonder if WG will introduce it, then a lot of players will rant about it but on the other hand, will buy it a lot also. The matchmaking will break because everyone will be playing with new arty whereas the games can take 3-arta on each side max. Just imagining the situations gives me a lot of thrill.

I found this in the description of a YouTube channel related to WoT Blitz:

Each one is a fearless samurai. Meet the researchable Tier VII–X Japanese tank destroyers! The Chi-To SPG, Ho-Ri Type I, Ho-Ri Type II, and their leader, the Ho-Ri Type III, are ready to unleash the ferocity of their katanas upon the enemy. Become their master. And they will repay you with loyalty and courage.

You would notice WoT Desktop is very reluctant to introduce new SPG and sniper TDs nowadays

why dont WG just integrate the tech trees of all WOT related games (PC, console, etc) with respective balance characteristics to enable their players to play the desired tech trees instead of jumping to certain game platform to play it is just beyond me. in a serious note, any new tech tree is always welcomed by me.

Japanese line had Type5Heavy HTs which are now nerfed so hard that they have lost their relevance. The WG shall give some attention to the Japanee tech tree. The time has now come to give some love to one of the oldest tech trees in the game.

Is it really that old?

And here I was thinking that the Waffentrager line is "relatively new"

I think Japanese HTs were released way back in 2015.

IIRC, the Japanese tech tree was the sixth to be introduced? After Russia, Germany, USA, Britain, and France, all of which have 4+ lines. Even China has more than Japan and they came afterwards I thought?

Meanwhile, every other every single-line tree introduced after the Japanese has now received a second line (usually an MT line and then a HT line, with the reverse being the case for the Poles).

So basically the Japanese tree is the longest one to go without any real update (Britain too, but they have more lines and have at least had some of their tanks shuffled around, especially with the removal of the Death Star and the FV4202)

Britain just had the Manticore line. Japan's LT line seems to be shelved with the Ke-Ho relegated to the Collectors pile.

China has LT, MT, HT, & TD lines as well as lots of tier-10 reward vehicles too whereas the Japanese tech tree is neglected by the Wargaming.

During the 1930s and 1940s, Japan produced a number of amphibious tank designs, including prototypes such as the Sumida Amphibious Armored Car (AMP), SR I-GoSR II Ro-GoSR III Ha-Go, Type 1 Mi-Sha (a/k/a Type 1 Ka-Mi), and Type 5 To-Ku. Production amphibious tanks included the Type 2 Ka-Mi, and Type 3 Ka-Chi; production amphibious transports included the F B swamp vehicle, and Type 4 Ka-Tsu APC. All production units were for use by the Japanese Special Naval Landing Forces in campaigns in the Pacific with amphibious operations.

The Wargaming has introduced a lot of Blueprints tanks, so they can introduce them as a Light Tank line in the Japanese tech tree (IMO).
