Actually the BEST part about this marathon is you can sandbag it by playing a bunch of tanks so that they're close to their BP cap and then just fire them all off once the marathon starts. I think I have about 200 points worth of cap bonus freebies I'll get over the next 2-3 days. Could have done more, but I wasn't going super-all in on prepping for what could have easily been a totally worthless dud event. Over 12 days just doing daily missions will net you roughly 600 points, so between those, you're guaranteed to be nearly halfway there.

Can you check somehow if a tank has hit its BP limit ?
(ie not worth playing them in this Extra BP)

Pretty sure it's in the vanilla garage. But it could also be a basic xvm thing.
