It's better for everyone. Nobody likes having 0 damage.
And it's not like it's a bad map for LT either. In fact it's the opposite. And we were in big trouble until the hacker on our team killed the enemy Type64. (I have hidden who he is because, game policy and stuff)
There's a lot of stuff that should be blocked from new players. Most games prevent you from top tier battles til you make your way through lower tiers/levels - because outcome is obvious. And worse, here, the rest of the team suffers.
I thought Super Chafee and VK 28 was not really premium tanks, they were reward tanks which does not give credit bonus. If you are talking about free tier 6 tanks in general, I am not quite sure about it, but it kinda looks like all tier 6 tanks are rather cheap and easy to access for new players? so they would get one anyway in short amount of time regardless of being a reward one.
Also, reward tanks are given to players who have been in the game for a fair amount of times. Every year the "Well Deserved Reward" event give players more rewards the more time they have been registered as player. So not exactly "new players" in the general sense of "new". Unless they make an account and dont play at all.

Oh btw did I mention that the Type 64 was killed blind from 500m away
This is why I'm no longer playing competitive until WG starts giving server-sided replays
I am sorry but that bush looks like the bush at D9 from this angle, you didnt turn your camera around enough so I couldnt see from here perfectly, but I have blind fired that bush quite a few times. Not saying the guy isnt hacking since I am not getting paid to be a laywer, but from this angle it looks like the guy who got blind fired was sitting in that bush that many passive lights/mediums go to spot (or prox spot) players who rush that vegetation line through the middle.
There other bushes in this map that people tend to go as well, and tier 6 have been turning more and more into a place where more experienced players are playing and blind firing obvious bushes (to be frank, blind firing bushes requires different levels of experience from players to players. Someone with less experience could have just got lucky, or someone with more experience could have tried blind firing that bush for the first time ever etc). It depends from player to play and play style. Its just a bush in the end of the day, someone could have gambled that shot.

Point. They technically ain't new players based on how many years old is the account. And WG is giving away tier 6 tech tree tanks to new players anyway (after completing tutorial) so either way newbies get punted to mid-tier battles.
They just plainly ain't good LT players. So do we skillgate light tanks in general then? Or make WG give away tier 6 premium heavy tanks instead?

Skillgating LT is an interesting idea but first they have to decide what "skill" is. I go for WR, but then there is platooning and solo WR is not separated from platoon WR so cant skill gate LTs based on WR. Also cant skill gate LTs based on Assist dmg since platooning can easily affect that ratio too. So no way to skill gate LT gameplay. I have never complained about LTs not scouting tho, even when I play my TDs. I think the OP is being sarcastic or just using the situation to bring awareness about LTs who dont scout, because no one driving an E25 ever complains about LTs not scouting.
